Agent or Broker?

Do you know the difference between an agent and a broker? Agents work for one company, can only sell the products of that company, and have quotas to meet. Brokers represent as many companies as they want, often as many as several dozen, and are free to sell you whatever plan is best for you.

This is why, with no exceptions, brokers can get you lower priced life insurance. Captive agents work for companies that are never competitive on price; they must sell you their company’s product whether it is priced well or not.
And different life insurance companies have different health requirements. Some are stricter in terms of health qualifications and some are less. Some will even deny you a policy if you’ve had a felony; others don’t care. Some will give you a standard rate if you are a smoker and most will increase your rate. Which company is right for you?
With an agent, you are stuck with one product from one company. Frankly, it’s rare for a captive agent to find someone who is better off with the one product they sell. Don’t waste your time with captive agents; they can’t help you. Use a Life Insurance Broker to get the best rate with a company that fits your needs.
As a broker, I represent several dozen life insurance companies. Call me today for a no-pressure, 10-minute consultation and quote: 209-268-8063
